Choosing a good location for your engagement sessi

Choosing a good location for your engagement session is paramount to the vibe of your photos.

Here’s my top tips for picking a good one:

💛 Pick somewhere we can talk a walk, as we walk the light and backdrop changes for more variety

💛 Don’t choose somewhere known to be super popular with tourists as we’ll be fighting with them for the best spots.

💛 Think about where the sun sets in the location you’ve chosen. If you’re picking a location for a specific view in one spot, make sure the sun is where you need it to be.

💛 Choose somewhere personal to you if you can. That way your photos will mean so much more to you if it’s in a spot you love to visit together.

Laura & Harry at St Tewdrics House 🤍 The most perfect day for the most perfect couple!

Their dog Henny absolutely stole the show as surprise ring bearer but just before the ceremony she somehow managing to lose Laura’s wedding ring! 😂🐶

Luckily the ring situation was sorted and Henny made up for the drama by charging down the aisle like she had the most important job in the world.

It had been cloudy pretty much all day, so I wasn’t expecting much from the evening light, but then the sun suddenly came out and gave us the most gorgeous golden hour 😭✨ We made the most of it with a quick wander around the fountain and the house and honestly, the light was unreal.

I love shooting at St Tewdrics House so much. There are so many beautiful spots for photos, everything is really close together so couples never feel like they’re disappearing from their guests for ages.

After sunset it was back inside for a very full dance floor, then later we snuck out one last time for a quiet little romantic moment under the stars in the bandstand.

What an incredible day! But Henny, maybe no more important jewellery jobs in the future 😂🐾

So Sarah & Will were the first couple to do someth

So Sarah & Will were the first couple to do something I’ve been campaigning for...

they cut their cake during their drinks reception!

Sarah had actually seen my reel about why I think couples should cut their cake earlier in the day rather than waiting until just before the first dance, and decided to do it.

And it just makes SO much sense.

Everyone’s hungry after the ceremony, the drinks are flowing, you’ve got canapés coming around… why not have cake too?! By the time you’ve had a three-course wedding breakfast and evening food is on its way, nobody really wants cake anymore 😂

So straight after their confetti, Sarah & Will cut the cake and it could actually be served and enjoyed during the drinks reception.

Consider this my continued campaign to bring back afternoon wedding cake 🎂

And as if the day hadn’t already delivered enough, Tortworth gave us the most ridiculous golden sunset later on 😍✨

Pastel pinks, sage greens, gorgeous florals, an Orangery ceremony, mountains of confetti and THAT light. Sarah & Will, what a day 🤍
