This Hyde House summer wedding was absolute perfection! Amy and Huw met in Prague via a mutual friend and after a few Skype dates they were officially a couple! They got engaged in Aruba!
“We were on holiday in Aruba. I had been planning to propose later in the summer, but when we were out there it was too beautiful not to. There was a jeweller on site – I had always wondered why there was a jewellery shop at random holiday hotels! I scoped it out while going for ‘walks’ throughout the week. On the penultimate day I plucked up the courage and managed to time it as the sun was setting. I asked a family nearby if they could take a picture of us as the sun was setting and got down on one knee while they were taking the picture.”

We first met at their engagement session down at Southerndown Beach at sunset. They brought their gorgeous dog Pippa with them too! See their engagement photos here!
Hyde House Summer Wedding Day
They fell in love with Hyde House for their summer wedding because of the light and airy ceremony space. They described their wedding vibe as ‘relaxed, informal and like a garden party!’
Their August wedding day was a perfect warm and sunny summers day. The girls got ready in the bridal suite whilst the boys greeted the guests over in the main house. They married in the modern Grange barn and and Amy walked down a flower lined aisle to a string quartet playing.
The Reception at Hyde House
They left their ceremony under a flurry of confetti and headed to the gardens for their drinks reception. They had garden games which the adults joined in with as well as the kids!
Garden games in the summer is the perfect form of entertainment to keep your guests busy throughout your wedding drinks reception. This is especially important if you’re planning to have lots of family photographs as you’ll be away from a lot of your guests for this time. This is a great time to have two photographers because one of us can capture your group photos and one of us can focus on your guests having fun!
This was such a perfect summer wedding at Hyde House and we even got a gorgeous sunset to play with!
