Amber and Jamie had the most beautiful, sunny winter Sopley Mill wedding at the very end of November.
Amber and Jamie first met me at Sopley Mill way back in 2017! Their wedding sounded amazing and I was so excited to be the one to capture it. Fast forward 18 months and we met up again for their engagement session.
Amber met Jamie in University:
We met in the second year of university, we took the same course and I changed class at the beginning of the year. Jamie used to help me with coursework and lent me the film seven pounds. He then came over to watch the notebook.
On November the 7th last year I went to work at 7:30am thinking it was a normal day and then had the shock of my life when I received a text from Jamie. He explained that he knew I hated surprises but I am finishing work at 12:15 and to come straight home. He also sent me a photo of himself in a suit holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I was absolutely shaking on the drive home but didn’t want to work myself up too much as he is often very romantic.
When I turned up he opened the door, gave me the flowers and there was a confetti trail to the bedroom that we followed. I opened the bedroom door and was overwhelmed with what I saw. There was fairy lights on the ceiling as well as photos of us over the years hung up with string. He then continued to play a short movie on the TV with our favourite songs which has wonderful times we shared together and memories of life together so far. At the end of the memories it then jumped to Jamie recording himself preparing the room for the day and then putting a little box in his pocket. He then got down on one knee and the rest is history.
The Wedding Day
Amber got ready with her bridesmaids and her honorary bridesman too. They drank her signature drink, prosecco with candy floss, and had the most fun getting ready for the wedding.
The ceremony was beautiful with both their mums doing heartfelt readings too. They walked out to the gardens under a stream of bubbles blown by their guests.
In their reception room, they had a lovely memory table for lost loved ones. They lost Jamie’s Auntie to cancer a couple of years ago after a long fight and they both loved her dearly. She was the first person they rang to say they were engaged and she responded ‘about bloody time!’
Their theme was rustic glam but very relaxed and they decorated the mill perfectly.
The evening brought some crazy dance moves, sparkler fun and a few night time portraits with the gorgeous string lights that hung over the river.
Huge thank you for having me and Jess along to capture your winter Sopley Mill wedding day!
