St Giles House Wedding, Wimborne St Giles, Dorset – Mr & Mrs Street

St Giles House Wedding, Wimborne St Giles

I was so excited to be back for another St Giles House wedding in Wimborne St Giles. The previous time I was here we had a glorious sunny summer day and my second wedding at St Giles was no different! The September sun shone for us all day and it couldn’t have been any more perfect.

Julie started to get ready at the nearby Home Farm House with her bridesmaids and parents, the morning was full of laughter whilst the girls got their hair and make-up done by the fantastic team at Amazing Face. Chris and his brothers got ready over at the Gate House to St Giles before walking down to the main house to greet their guests.

They had the fantastic idea to ask their guests to bring a cake or a dessert if they wanted to, so lots of their guests showed up carrying these fantastic desserts for the cake table!

The Ceremony

Julie and the girls arrived at St Giles House to their Japan room where they got into their dresses before heading down to the stunning ceremony in St Giles’ gold room.  The room barely requires any decoration but they had hand-made a beautiful paper flower arch to marry under! The ceremony was extremely emotional. The whole room was welling up as Julie’s dad walked down the aisle to Chris who was holding back tears too.

After the Ceremony the guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine along with garden games for the children. Julie and Chris had arranged a surprise aerobatics show to happen over St Giles House! They had included a tiny hint towards this on their wedding invitations which a few of the guests had spotted too!

The Reception

Julie and Chris chose a delicate theme of ‘travel’ for their wedding day. The aerobatic show during their drinks reception was a nod towards this and the theme continued through to their wedding breakfast room too. They had named each table with a place they had visited and a photograph of them at that location. But the cake table stole the show; everyones cakes and desserts had been put together on this incredible cake table which guests helped themselves to for dessert.

The speeches were heart-warming and hilarious and soon after we were outside catching the last of the Dorset sunset.

The evening brought a Tuk Tuk photo booth, the craziest dance floor I’ve ever seen and everyone got fully involved in St Giles’ nightclub in the basement!

Thank you for having me and Anna along to photograph your St Giles House wedding day!
