This was such an incredible day at Eva and Chris’s rainy Folly Farm wedding. Despite the fact that this was definitely the windiest and rainiest wedding I think I’ve ever had to capture!
These guys met on Match.com and are living proof that these dating websites actually do work!
“On our first date Chris took me for cocktails where he had an incredibly manly French martini (but only because he didn’t want to assume I would stay for a second and they were 2-4-1!).“
“We were on holiday in the Loire Valley on my (Eva’s) first ever camping trip! We were staying at a beautiful isolated campsite with a huge lake in the middle. After a day of exploring I decided to take a nap and Chris took the opportunity to set up fairy lights and a video on his laptop in a secluded spot near the lake.
The original plan was to lure me down and for me to watch the video whilst Chris hid nearby, sneaking up behind me with the ring. Unfortunately, after four failed attempts at waking me up, he had to come and get me in person. Fuming at having been woken up, I stomped down to the lake muttering under my breath about frogs. The rest of the proposal went according to plan and, at a key moment in the video, I turned round and Chris was on his knee (in the mud) blubbering away. We then celebrated by going to McDonald’s and ordering at the drive through in very broken French!”
The Wedding Day
Eva and her 6 bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite whilst Chris has his 3 groomswomen helped him get ready in the Old Dairy. The morning was lovely and sunny but the rest of the day was forecast for heavy showers!
They had a lovely ceremony and Eva’s dad walked her down the aisle to a beaming Chris. At the end of the ceremony, a bagpipe player played them back down the aisle and over to the Atrium for winter drinks and canapés.
We braved the wind and rain for their group photos and they were absolute troopers in the weather for their couple photos too. After drying off, and warming up with more mulled wine, they went in for their wedding breakfast and speeches.
Chris and Eva had chosen a beautiful theme of autumn pinecones and the stars. It was only fitting that we created some night time rain photos to look like the stars later on once it was dark!
Thank you for letting me capture your windy and rainy Folly Farm wedding!
