Highcliffe Castle and Haven Hotel Wedding
Louise and Daniel had the most beautiful Highcliffe Castle and Haven Hotel Wedding on the edge of the Dorset coastline. The castle gives up it’s Wintergarden room, full of huge windows and old stone walls, for the most romantic wedding ceremony venue. The pair met a few years ago in a nightclub in Bournemouth when Louise accidentally bumped into him on the dance floor! Since then they’ve added three adorable dogs to their little family!
I met the girls in their hotel room at Haven Hotel and Spa in Sandbanks. Sandbanks is one of the UKs most expensive areas to live, £10,000 per square metre! You can see why, its gorgeous beaches and views over to the Isle of Wight make it a truly magical location.
“Highcliffe Castle was the perfect place for our ceremony and we fell in love with it as soon as we saw it! We loved the idea of getting married in an old castle. We also loved that the Haven Hotel was right on the beach, with amazing views!”
Louise had a kind friend come and do everyone’s hair and she did her make-up herself. The girls room looked down onto the hotel front, meaning Louise could see the wedding guests arriving to get the bus to the ceremony. She was so calm all morning but seeing the guests arriving suddenly made it all seem very real! After a glass of prosecco or two, Louise’s dad met her outside the Haven Hotel with an old style Bently to drive them to Highcliffe Castle.
The ceremony room perfect, a gorgeous sunny day meant the room was bright as the sun streamed through the full length windows. The bridesmaids, in coral, walked down the aisle before Louise and her dad followed them at the end. It was an emotional walk for everyone in the room.
Favourite part of the wedding day: “Turning up at Highcliffe Castle, seeing all the guests waiting for me through the window, knowing I was going to see Dan in a few minutes. Then actually walking down the aisle with my dad by my side was the best feeling in the world!”
A quick drinks reception and photographs at Highcliffe Castle was all there was time for before we made our way back to The Haven Hotel. The couple had provided a big red double decker bus for the guests to take them to each venue- such a cool idea! As Louise’s family are from London it was a great nod to her heritage. Louise has a huge family and they all made their way down to Dorset to see her get married. Louise is 1 of 11 siblings with 7 older brothers – no pressure Dan! Her mum was also 1 of 12 too!
They couple had casino games in the evening which was such a great way to keep the guests entertained! Everyone had faux casino money for their favours which tied it together nicely.
Thank you for letting me capture your Highcliffe castle and Haven Hotel wedding!
Honeymoon Destination: “Mexico (Cancun) we had the most amazing time in Mexico, so relaxing to put all the stress of wedding planning behind us and enjoy being Mr and Mrs Holdcroft. We got to swim with dolphins which has been my dream since I was a little girl!”
