Mr & Mrs Jones- Glewstone Court Country House, Ross-on-Wye

Glewstone Court Country House, Ross-On-Wye Ashley and Jess had the most gorgeous wedding at Glewstone Court in Ross-on-Wye at the end of May. They met on a night out in Cardiff and 3 dogs later, they’re inseparable! They chose Glewstone Court for it’s aesthetic appeal, the country house is beautiful and overlooks a vineyard too! As they were having a smaller wedding, the house was the perfect size for them, not to mention the owners are just lovely! Jess had her make-up done by Zoe Trigwell in the morning of her wedding in Glewstone Court’s bridal suite. Her dress was from Bridal Lane and she even admitted choosing her dress was her favourite part of wedding planning! it was truly beautiful, and with a cathedral length veil to go with it too. Ashley and Jess married in downstairs in a beautiful room in the hotel which overlooked the grounds. It was a small ceremony with just their closest family and friends watching on. Even with forecaste of thunderstorms, the rain held off for us for the day allowing for photos outside during the drinks reception. The newlyweds and I headed down to the vineyard for some time away from their guests and came back to their guests with their adorable dogs! Anyone who knows me knows I love dogs, so dogs plus weddings means a super happy photographer! Jess’ dad, Ashley and the best man introduced their wedding breakfast with some heartwarming and hilarious speeches. It was so lovely to capture your amazing Glewstone Court wedding, thank you so much for sharing your day with me! Advice from the...

Mr & Mrs Stevenson- Camden and Leadenhall Market, Central London

Central London Wedding John and Mélanie had a central London wedding at the end of May and it was so perfect! They met a few years ago at the Adventure Bar and their adventure together began. Mélanie is originally from France and was living in London for work. John is originally from Liverpool but also works in London so they have the affectionate nicknames of Froggie and Rosbif! They held their ceremony in Camden Town Hall with Mélanie’s friends and family coming from France to celebrate with them. I met them at the Town hall to capture her dads reaction before he walked her down the aisle. The ceremony was lovely, with personal vows, a few tears, some heartfelt readings and some very proud parents. “The entrance song for the ceremony will be “all you need is love” by The Beatles because John’s family is originally from Liverpool (like the Beatles). The start of this song is actually the French anthem! The first time John took me to Liverpool we went to see a cover band of the Beatles. At the end of the show he had this song dedicated to me on stage which was the cutest ever. It’s been one of our couple songs ever since!” The guests hopped on a vintage Routemaster bus to get us to Leadenhall Market where the celebrations carried on. But we got to stop along the way at the same Adventure Bar they met at for some photographs! Their reception was at Lamb Tavern, a quirky pub in Leadenhall Market. The theme of their wedding was a fusion of England and...

Mr & Mrs Reynolds- Cain Manor, Surrey

Cain Manor Wedding I was so excited to finally get to capture Charlotte and Paul’s Cain Manor wedding. I’d met up with Charlotte and Paul so many times before their wedding for family sessions, their engagement sessions and venue meetings too. By the day of the wedding it was just like seeing old friends! Cain Manor is nestled within thick forest on the Hampshire/Surrey border. It’s romantic, charming and a typical English countryside manor house belonging to the Bijou Wedding Venue family. They chose this venue because“It’s beautiful! And we both got ‘the feeling’ when we went to see it!” Despite having beautiful weather for their engagement session, the wedding day was a drizzly one but it didn’t affect anyones spirits. The girls were being pampered in the bridal suite with hair by Stephanie Louise Root and Victoria Oke Make-up. Meanwhile the boys put the finishing touches to the venue and got ready themselves. It was an emotional ceremony in Cain Manor’s barn style ceremony room. Charlotte’s proud father walked her down the aisle to a beaming Paul. Whilst a string quartet played  ‘A tale as old as time’ from Beauty and the Beast- Charlotte’s favourite film. They exited their wedding to all the guests blowing bubbles which was amazing! Even with the drizzle, these two braved the weather and came outside (with umbrellas of course!) for their couple photographs. I’m so glad they did! We made some magic in the rain together! They got back just time to be entered into their beautiful wedding breakfast room. “Our table names were quotes from our favourite films. We love films! There are...

Mr & Mrs Crack- The Old Hall, Ely

The Old Hall at Ely in Cambridgeshire is a renovated Jacobean manor house with breathtaking views over the rolling hills towards Ely cathedral. With 3000 acres and a gorgeous lake this is a wedding photographers dream! Simon and Nett’s love story started way back when they were much younger as they met at school, but they got together properly on valentines day in 2016. They got engaged in a floating tent on a lake in Thailand- can you get any more romantic!? They originally got in touch with me for a last minute July wedding but a few weeks later they got some exciting news- they were expecting! So they rushed to bring the wedding forward to mid-May so Nett could keep her beautiful dress. The wedding day was incredible and you would never know it was planned in just over a month! The Old Hall at Ely has a gorgeous garden pavilion for outside wedding ceremonies and this is where these guys tied the knot. Unfortunately Nett’s dad passed away not so long ago in 2016 so Angus, his best friend, walked Nett down the aisle. It was a beautiful and emotional moment to capture. After the ceremony, they had hired a vintage ice cream van (Sweet Ally Scoops) to keep the guests cool in the May sun. The speeches after they’d eaten were fantastic to witness. Simon announced to everyone the reason they brought the wedding forward with the ultrasound photo of their baby! The evening brought a gorgeous first dance, crazy dance moves from the guests and sparklers too! Thank you so much for choosing me to...

Berwick Lodge Galaxy Theme Wedding in Bristol- Mr & Mrs Parrish

Berwick Lodge Galaxy Theme Wedding Laura and Graeme chose to marry at the beautiful Berwick Lodge in Bristol. After shooting Amy-Jo and Sean’s wedding there last year, I was overjoyed to be back. It’s such a gorgeous venue with breath taking grounds and every inch of the decor has been thought out. “We felt it was both a special place, but also somewhere we felt at home. We liked the fact that it was in the city, but looked like it belonged in the country. Also they served us tea and the tea was in a big cup…both of these are major pluses!” They chose a theme for their wedding based around the galaxy and the stars. This worked so well with star headpieces by Hermione Harbutt and a galaxy themed cake complete with a rocket! Laura walked down the aisle with her brother at her side. She walked towards a very happy Graeme whilst When You Wish Upon a Star by Louis Armstrong was playing. Laura had the two most adorable flower girl and page boy to walk down the aisle before her too. Laura and Graeme kept their wedding low key, with just close friends and family attending the day. They had friends involved in supplying things for their Berwick Lodge wedding too. An old school friend did all the gorgeous flowers and an old work friend made their amazing cake! The speeches by Laura’s brother, Graeme, the best man and also Laura herself went down wonderfully. I’ve never seen a room full of people laugh so hard! They danced their first dance to Fly me to...

Kate and Ricky- Ocean Riviera Paradise, Riviera Maya, Mexico!

Destination Wedding Photography Now Kate and Ricky’s wedding was one I’d be looking forward to for such a long time! These two decided to tie the knot in the beautiful Riviera Maya for a Mexico wedding. The idea came to them after watching their friends (Ricky’s best man) get married a few years earlier in the Dominican Republic. These two have such a lovely story. They first met as family friends, as their dads are total best buddies. One night Ricky was a little bit drunk and asked Kate to go out with just him, not their families too. The rest is history! I arrived on the Monday night at the beautiful Ocean Riviera Resort. I met with Kate and Ricky on the Tuesday (by the pool over a couple of cocktails) to discuss the wedding plans- I think all client meetings should be done this way right!? The wedding morning was a crazy blur, I split my time between the girls hotel block and the boys to capture both Kate and Ricky getting ready. The Ceremony They decided to change their ceremony from the beachfront to a private rooftop terrace overlooking palm trees towards the ocean. This was such a lovely idea as it was intimate for their guests only- away from the hustle of hotel life. The glass balcony surrounded the terrace to show off the view. Kate and Ricky wed under a white gazebo at 4:30pm in gorgeous Mexican sunlight surrounded by their closest friends and family. They even finger printed on their marriage certificate for authenticity in true Mexican style! Their drinks reception was set...

Rhian and Jonathan- Novotel Cardiff Centre, South Wales

Novotel Cardiff City Centre- South Wales Wedding It was a beautiful sunny April morning on Rhian and Jonathan’s Novotel Cardiff City Centre wedding. The Novotel Cardiff is a really quirky venue. It’s industrial and modern decor really sets it apart from other wedding venues around South Wales. These guys met in their local gym 15 years ago, got talking and the rest is history. “Jonathan was going to circuit classes with friends from his local rugby team and we all got chatting over the weeks. I didn’t really think anything of it until Jonathan started turning up in my other classes including fit ball! Perseverance definitely got the girl.” Jonathan actually proposed many years ago but they never got around to setting a date: “The first time he asked me, I was pregnant with our first son and Jonathan just in passing said that we should get married now. But life took over and we just never pinned down a place or a venue and time just flew by. In the meantime I lost three engagement rings and Jonathan swore he wouldn’t buy me a fourth! Then on Christmas day 2016, Jonathan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with my gift as a forth engagement ring. This time he was determined that we would pick a date and venue and this time we finally did put us first!” The Wedding Day: Rhian had her best friends and their children as bridesmaids and flower girls. The girls wore beautiful white and silver bridesmaids dresses with added chain detailing on the back. The beautiful ceremony almost...

Mr & Mrs Clarke- Rustic, Pastel Spring Wedding at Kingscote Barn, Cotswolds

Mr & Mrs Clarke at Kingscote Barn I was so excited to be shooting at the beautiful Kingscote Barn and for it to be the first sunny wedding of the year too! “We loved everything about the venue from the moment we saw it. It was the only one we viewed, didn’t need to see anything else! Loved how relaxed it was and the light canopy inside the barn is stunning!” Liz and Dan met at work after Liz’s uncle got her the interview. The morning was nice and chilled with all the girls getting ready in the large bridal suite on-site, next to the barn. The boys arrived on time, found their button holes and were ready to greet the guests. They chose a pastel vintage theme to compliment the Spring weather with the bridesmaids in a beautiful pastel blue. The ceremony Kingscote Barn is such a beautiful barn, Cotswolds stone and high ceilings make this a stunning venue to be married in. Liz was walked down the aisle by her tearful mum and given to her beaming husband-to-be. A friend did a heartfelt reading and they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife under falling confetti. The barn is situated within acres of stunning english farmland. We were fortunate enough to wander around the gorgeous grounds for some photographs during the drinks reception. The couple chose to have an Afternoon Tea for their wedding breakfast which complimented the spring wedding theme perfectly. “It was nice and chilled out, the whole day ran smoothly- probably because we had no idea what we were doing! Not the...

Mr & Mrs Bray- Snowy Wedding- The Old Lodge, Minchinhampton, Cotswolds

Living in the UK, you don’t expect to have a snow on your wedding day, let alone in March! The first wedding of the year at The Old Lodge in Minchinhampton Common was one I will never forget. Katie let me know a few days before that we were expecting snow on her wedding day. Little did we know how much snow we would actually get! I travelled down the day before to be on the safe side and the snow was already thick when I arrived. It was nicknamed ‘The Beast from the East’ and it certainly lived up to it’s name in the Cotswolds! These two met at work, when Katie was freelancing at a design agency that Wes worked at. ‘I didn’t know at the time but Wes had a rule that he wouldn’t get into relationships with people from work! We went on a road trip around Scotland. Wes proposed at the fairy pools on the Isle of Skye. We’d had a great day visiting whisky distilleries and eating oysters so this topped it off perfectly.’ Katie and her Maid of Honour were already at the venue when I arrived, setting up the room in preparation for tomorrow. Thursday night was when the beast really hit The Old Lodge hard. Waking up Friday morning the entire place was covered in snow, up to 3 feet in some places! Emotions ran high as panic set in about whether guests would be able to show up to the wedding due to weather! Luckily all the bridesmaids and parents arrived safely which put Katie’s mind to rest. Helpful...
