Mr & Mrs Bumstead, Winchester Registry Office, New Forest Tipi

Winchester Registry Office and New Forest Tipi Wedding

Emily and Fletcher met back at Barton Peveril college at a party and have been together ever since! Fletch popped the question after a bike ride (one of his favourite things to do) at Farley Mount in Winchester. It’s such a special place to them now that we stopped by there on their wedding day too.

The pair wanted a low key wedding with the focus on fun. Emily has always dreamed of getting married at home in her parents garden. That’s exactly what she did! They hired a Tipi and set it up in the back garden of her parents house in Bramshaw in the New Forest.

The Morning

The girls got ready in the house next to the Tipi with lots of champagne! Emily and her four bridesmaids helped each other with their hair and a family friend (Rene Price) did the gorgeous flower bouquets. The morning was bright and sunny and the Tipi was all set up with planet table names and floral touches everywhere.

The bar in the Tipi was handmade by Fletcher himself- I’m seriously impressed with this, check it out! Making the bar was also their favourite part of the wedding planning too. Emily’s best friend drove her in a gold Bentley to the ceremony.

The Ceremony

Emily and Fletcher got married in Winchester Registry Office in the Basing Room. The room is small but with gorgeous ornate features and blue wallpaper, it’s not a room you’d forget easily. Her father walked her down the short aisle to Sébastien Tellier – La RitournelleHer dad even kept a smile on his face when the registrar called him the wrong name! The ceremony was short, fairly casual and full of laughter. Leaving the ceremony we just managed to fit in a confetti throw before the the heavens opened and the umbrellas came out.

The Reception

On the way back we stopped off at their beloved Farley Mount. Unfortunatley the weather meant we couldn’t venture down the track to the monument but we did manage to grab a few shots in the rain. Of course the champagne made another appearance! The pair stopped for a cheeky Mcdonalds on the way back to the Tipi and arrived just in time for the confetti aisle- their favourite part of the wedding day.

As well as the bar being made by Fletcher, all the stationary was made by Emily, including all the signs. Bunting was made by friends and family, the cake was from M&S and decorated with flowers and they even had a prosecco station. They cut the cheese tower in the evening, with Fletcher feeding himself rather than the usual tradition of feeding each other! The live band they hired were brilliant, getting everyone on the dance floor all night. They even kept it going when the power tripped and sang a cappella to keep the spirits high!

Thanks for having me and enjoy your trip around New Zealand for your February honeymoon!
