Mr & Mrs Davey- Folly Farm, Bristol

Nicky and Jack chose to have a beautiful Folly Farm wedding. They themselves live in London and their guests made the journey to Bristol for this special venue. I got to the farm and the whole place was covered in a thick, dense fog. As the sun reared it’s head, the fog ebbed away, and it looked like it was going to be a perfect day. In the bridal suite, Nicky was having her hair and make-up done. She was taking some quiet time by herself to reflect on the day ahead. The bridesmaids were in their own rooms helping each other with their makeup and listening to Jack and his best man play their guitars. Guests started to arrive and explore Folly Farm, they even found the pigs. They chose to light the ceremony room with tea lights, providing a soft golden glow to the wedding. Nicky’s proud mum walked her down the aisle to her Groom, who everyone was astounded to see wearing a suit for once! The ceremony was romantic and sweet, with friends doing heartfelt readings. They chose to display 2 very sweet felt hedgehogs as a homage to Nicky’s father, who sadly passed away last year. He was Italian, and on his family crest were lots of hedgehogs, so this was the perfect memorial. We exited the ceremony to see the low autumn sun still out. We managed to sneak away some time for some couple portraits amongst the apple trees and around the farm whilst the guests enjoyed welcome drinks in the atrium. In their wedding breakfast room, they chose a theme of...

Mr & Mrs Luff- Tithe Barn Wedding, Hampshire

Tithe Barn Wedding Ashleigh and Lucie had a Tithe Barn wedding in Petersfield, on a perfect autumn day at the end of September. It was the only venue they looked at but fell in love with it right away so didn’t need to look anywhere else. They chose a delicate theme of lilac to go with the rustic feel of the barn. Ashleigh proposed to Lucie when they were hiking in Scotland and he popped the question near a beautiful lake. Ashleigh and Lucie are two of the warmest, kindest, most generous and special people I have come to know.  Since photographing their engagement session and getting to know them, their love for each other, their friends, family and life is so apparent.  When I asked them for some valuable relationship advice they said: “always listen to each other and don’t hold anything back.” which I just loved. The morning of their wedding day I got to Lucie and Ashleigh’s new house (which they’d just bought 3 months prior!). Shannon Belle was working her magic with Lucie’s hair and make-up and the bridesmaids were doing their own upstairs. Lucie had so many friends and family pop by in the morning to wish them luck too! The stretch limo arrived to take them to Tithe Barn where Ashleigh already was greeting their guests in his amazing floral suit! The ceremony in Tithe Barn was relaxed and informal, with both Lucie’s brother and Ash’s best man getting to the top of the aisle and both giving Ash a huge bear hug before Lucie and her dad walked down the aisle. Afterwards...

Mr & Mrs Street- St Giles House, Wimborne St Giles, Dorset

St Giles House Wedding, Wimborne St Giles I was so excited to be back for another St Giles House wedding in Wimborne St Giles. The previous time I was here we had a glorious sunny summer day and my second wedding at St Giles was no different! The September sun shone for us all day and it couldn’t have been any more perfect. Julie started to get ready at the nearby Home Farm House with her bridesmaids and parents, the morning was full of laughter whilst the girls got their hair and make-up done by the fantastic team at Amazing Face. Chris and his brothers got ready over at the Gate House to St Giles before walking down to the main house to greet their guests. They had the fantastic idea to ask their guests to bring a cake or a dessert if they wanted to, so lots of their guests showed up carrying these fantastic desserts for the cake table! The Ceremony Julie and the girls arrived at St Giles House to their Japan room where they got into their dresses before heading down to the stunning ceremony in St Giles’ gold room.  The room barely requires any decoration but they had hand-made a beautiful paper flower arch to marry under! The ceremony was extremely emotional. The whole room was welling up as Julie’s dad walked down the aisle to Chris who was holding back tears too. After the Ceremony the guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine along with garden games for the children. Julie and Chris had arranged a surprise aerobatics show to happen over St Giles...

Mr & Mrs Suker- Black Tie Wedding at Penpont House, Brecon

Penpont House Wedding I LOVED Eleanor and Rob’s Penpont House Wedding! I first met Eleanor and Rob at Mr & Mrs Fletcher’s wedding back in April 2017. When they got engaged and came to me I was so happy to hear from them! Their venue is the stunning Penpont House wedding venue in Brecon. The venue is close to Eleanor’s heart because she grew up there as a child and used to spend her days playing in the grounds. Eleanor’s family friends own the house and its local to her childhood home. She said it was “truly the only place I would have got married!” Once Rob asked the question, she showed him the venue and luckily he fell in love with it too and they could start planning their Penpont House Wedding! The morning started with a drizzly Welsh day but the house was stunning regardless. The bridal suite was calm with Eleanor and her mum having their hair and make-up done. Esme, Eleanors niece, arrived to put on her gorgeous gold bridesmaid dress. Rob and his ushers got into their timeless black tuxedos in another room close by before walking to the church to greet the guests arriving. Ceremony The ceremony was in the church on the edge of Penpont House’s grounds so there wasn’t far to go. No photographs were allowed to be taken during the actual wedding but the bride walked down the aisle to the traditional Pachbelle Canon in D just as the grooms mother had done years before. Eleanor’s parents had secretly organised for the Welsh Male Vocal Choir to come and perform a...

Tony & Rosie- St Catherines Hill Proposal, Winchester

St Catherine’s Hill, Winchester Proposal Photography Tony got in touch with me a few months back to tell me some exciting news. He was planning to propose to his girlfriend, Rosie, and wanted to ask me about proposal photography! He had put so much thought and planning into how he was going to do it. I was blown away when he told me what he had done so far. Tony and Rosie always take a stroll as a couple up St Catherine’s Hill in Winchester. It’s one of their places. They love to come here, act silly on the rope swing and appreciate the view over the city of Winchester. It was the perfect place to pop the question! Tony went to St Catherine’s Hill many times before the big day, planning where he would ask her and how he would do it. Whilst he was there he found a piece of wood from one of the local trees and took it home. Then he hand-carved a wooden ring box from this piece of wood! He also got Rosie’s sister in on the plan, managed to borrow one of her rings to measure the size and then worked with a jeweller to create a bespoke ring design just for her! On the day, it was all set and ready to go. Tony and Rosie were in Winchester and would walk towards St Catherine’s Hill. Myself, Rosie’s sister and two friends met at St Catherine’s to set the scene. They had big photos of the couple and tied them to places along the way up to the top of the hill. At...

Mr & Mrs Brooks- St Tewdrics House, Chepstow Wales

Alice in Wonderland Wedding, St Tewdrics House When Cerys first got in touch with me to tell me that her wedding was going to be Alice in Wonderland wedding, I was so excited! I love a themed wedding and St Tewdrics House in Chepstow was the perfect location for it. St Tewdrics House is a 19th Century Italianate Villa and a purpose built wedding venue. It is set in 10 acres of Welsh countryside with views over the severn bridge too. We woke up to a typical Welsh day, grey and raining, but St Tewdrics looks beautiful in any weather. The girls got ready upstairs in one of the beautiful, ornate bedrooms. They were getting their hair and make-up done and the maid of honour was finishing writing her speech. The boys were down the corridor in another room getting their suits on and having last minute showers too! The ceremony room was decorated beautifully by the Bride’s talented mother and little hints towards the Alice in Wonderland wedding theme made it even more special. Even on a rainy day, the skylight in the ceiling flooded the room with light. They married under a beautiful arch handmade by Cery’s mother. Cerys proud son was the best man and ring bearer and he looked so smart in his top hat and tails. Cerys and Mathew and all of their guests braved the drizzle for confetti and the group photographs before heading inside for their Mad Hatter’s Tea Party! The evening brought a surprise Ice Cream Truck courtesy of Poppy’s Vintage Ices, guests singing with the band and a beautiful first...

Mr & Mrs Wiltshire- Villa Tolomei, Tuscany Italy, Italian Wedding

Villa Tolomei- Tuscany Wedding Oh my gosh where do I begin! Becci and Joel initially got in touch with me to see if I would consider doing a Tuscany wedding! Yes please! We met to discuss everything and then had their engagement session at Hengistbury Head back in May 2017. We had such a great time and I knew their wedding was going to be incredible. I flew to Pisa on the Monday morning and got the train to Florence. Florence is such a beautiful city and I can completely understand how they fell in love with the place. Becci even said her favourite part of the wedding planning was visiting Florence for all the wedding organisation! I mooched around the cobbled streets and found the best gelato bar (thanks for the recommendation Becci!) then met the couple and all the guests in a garden bar in the evening. Tuesday was Tuscany wedding day! We got up early and I went with the girls up the hill to the stunning Villa Tolomei. The villa used to be a historic Renaissance home but has been renovated and restored into a 5* luxury hotel. The villa is surrounded by the green hills of Marignolle and has a panoramic view of the Florentine hills down towards the old town. “We loved the Italian style villa with the large outdoor space and especially loved the views from the back of the venue and the driveway entrance. We wanted the majority of our wedding to be outside in the sunshine too.” It was 8:30am when we arrived at the venue and the ceremony wasn’t until 3pm so we had...

Mr & Mrs Wyatt- Combe House Hotel, Somerset

Combe House Hotel Wedding Natalie and Chris had the most amazing wedding down in Somerset at Combe House Hotel. The hotel is so sweet, it looks like a row of little cottages buried deep within the forest. They chose the venue after being recommended it by a friend. They fell in love with it’s quiet and beautiful location. The girls got ready in the bridal suite upstairs and enjoyed a morning of being pampered and also creating some hilarious scenes for the marryoke video! In the grounds of Combe House Hotel, the boys had their own lodge to get ready in. Natalie’s step-dad, Tom, walked her down the aisle after an emotional first look at the bottom of the stairs. They married outside in the courtyard next to the marquee and Natalie’s sister sang them down the aisle which was incredibly touching. Combe House Hotel is such a perfect place for wedding photographs. The grounds are just gorgeous! The hotel itself is a great backdrop but if you take a wander down the road, you can find a secret forest area complete with lush green trees and a river running through it! My second shooter, Ben, kindly brought his drone along with him to this wedding so we had so much fun following the Natalie and Chris on a stroll through the forest from the air. They had chosen travel and places they’d visited as the theme for their wedding and it worked perfectly with the blush pink colour scheme. The decor was beautiful in the marquee and I especially loved their popcorn ‘All because he popped the question’...

Natalie and Chris Engagement Session- Dunraven Bay, Wales

Dunraven Bay Engagement, Southerndown I met Natalie and Chris for their Dunraven Bay engagement session one Sunday evening. We’d been in contact for months but only managed to find the time to meet just 4 weeks before their wedding! These two are from Taunton and came up to spend the day in Wales so we could have their engagement session at Dunraven Bay. Dunraven Bay is such a gorgeous place for an engagement session. It’s on the coast, with striking cliffs, huge rocks and when the tide is out there’s sand too. But there’s also a hidden walled garden and ruins on top of the cliffs too! We were so lucky the gardens were in full bloom at this time of year. I had such a great time on this Dunraven Bay engagement session. I truly do have the best job, even after just a couple of hours with these two, I felt like we’d known each other for years. The wedding at Combe House Hotel in August is going to be...
