Carly & Craig- Wolvesey Castle Winchester Engagement Shoot

Wolvesey Castle Winchester Engagement Shoot I met Carly and Craig and their adorable daughter Bea in the centre of Winchester to wander round the ruins of Wolvesey Castle for their engagement shoot. Carly and Craig are getting married on August bank holiday weekend in the gorgeous Winchester Royal Hotel and I can’t wait! An engagement shoot is so great as it’s a perfect way to get to know your photographer, but also gives you a chance to relax and get used to being in front of a camera before your big day! Not to mention you get some lovely photographs that could even make an appearance at your wedding on guest books (ask me for more info),  your order of service or table names. We had a great time wandering around the castle, following little Bea as she explored the area. We even managed to sneak in a couple of shots of just Mum and Dad- it was their engagement shoot after all! Shortly after, the clouds gave in and it started to rain,we sheltered under an arch for the last few shots before leaving the castle to the rain. Wolvesey Castle Winchester Engagement...

Chloe & Rob- Romsey Abbey Vintage Wedding, Hampshire

Romsey Abbey Vintage Wedding Chloe and Rob went for a vintage inspired intimate ceremony held at the grand Romsey Abbey in the middle of the market town. Luckily, the 10th century Abbey has a side chapel which was the perfect fit for their 30 guests. The pair met in 2003 when Chloe went to see Rob play a gig in Southampton and since formed an incredible friendship. “We just knew we wanted to be together forever.” In 2016 Rob took Chloe on a surprise trip to Venice. The plan was to propose in a romantic place, but Rob couldn’t wait and proposed at soon as they checked in at the hotel and luckily Chloe said yes. The couple did a few elements of their wedding ‘DIY’. Since Rob is a graphic designer, they made their wedding stationary themselves. Chloe and her mum bought and arranged the beautiful bouquets and a friend made their amazing wedding cake. The morning was fairly relaxed with Chloe’s sister and Mum cooking the canapés for the reception and the hair and make-up artists working their magic. Even their beloved cat made an appearance after hiding for most of the morning! The ceremony went without a hitch with some live music played by Rob’s brother whilst they signed the register. “Our favourite memory was walking out of the Abbey after the ceremony. The storm had cleared up, there were blue skies and sunshine.” Leaving Romsey Abbey and heading across the road, the guests congregated in King John’s House Gardens. The house is one of the oldest buildings in Romsey and is still used as a...

Styled Shoot- Autumn Forest Wedding at Hotel TerraVina, New Forest, Hampshire

Autumn Forest Wedding- Styled Shoot Photographing and organising the Autumn forest wedding inspired styled shoot was a brilliant way to spend a sunny Monday in May. Since photographing my mums wedding in 2016 at the stunning Hotel TerraVina, I’ve worked closely with the bespoke hotel on their advertising and social media posts. At their Wedding Showcase back in March 2017, I met the wonderful Kay from Pomp and Petals Florists and we came up with the idea to create a styled wedding right there at Hotel TerraVina! We brainstormed and discussed ideas, and both we’re really keen to incorporate autumnal colours into the palette. Kay is a genius and very creative when it comes to flowers, foliage and other natural materials. She can creates incredible displays and structures if required. We wanted this styled shoot to show off her skills to their highest level to show her clients her capability.  We also wanted to use the hotel’s rural location as inspiration for the theme. Hotel TerraVina is nestled within the New Forest; it’s orange colour scheme compliments the colours of the forest during  the autumn. Our gorgeous ‘Bride’ and ‘Groom’ are a real item, providing intimacy and authentic romance. The wonderful outfits were supplied by Romsey Bridal; we wanted to keep things local in our autumn forest wedding. We had two gorgeous dresses and two beautiful suits giving us the luxury of mixing and matching them both. Kay also provided two bouquets and a flower head-crown too! We were truly spoilt by the weather on the day and a dip in the hotel’s outdoor heated pool was welcome. Personally, I think every...

Mr & Mrs Aslett- Peacock Theme Wedding Lainston House, Hampshire

Peacock Theme Wedding Lainston House, Hampshire Rob and Sharon have been together for as long as anyone can remember and they are perfectly suited. The pair chose to wed at the exclusive Lainston House in Hampshire and even though it was just close family and friends, they still had over 100 guests! Family is such a huge part of Aslett life, with Rob having 7 children and 16 grandkids (including little Alfie I photographed a few months ago!). In fact, family was the whole reason the two decided to tie the knot in the first place. “We reached a point where we wanted to show our friends, parents and children the depth of our feelings and long term commitment that existed and getting married seemed the perfect way.” “Our priority was that everyone enjoyed our day as much as we knew we would. We wanted all the family to be there, all night and for breakfast the next morning so we hired as much of the hotel as we could and made sure there were rooms for all.” The wedding had an unique but beautiful peacock theme running throughout. The reason being at Rob and Sharon’s previous house, they had a resident peacock who would visit them frequently and who they became quite fond of. The peacock theme linked the gentlemen’s ties, bridesmaid dresses, stationary and even the buttonholes were peacock feathers too! Whilst table plans and a few other bits had more than a passing wink to the motorsport that features heavily in their lives. Favourite Moment: “Our biggest memory of the day is just how much bloody...

Becci & Joel- Hengistbury Head Dorset Engagement Shoot

Hengistbury Head Engagement Shoot Becci got in touch with me to ask if I would ever consider shooting a wedding in Italy. As you can imagine, I jumped at the chance! It’s been on my Wedding Photography Wish List for a while! To share it with these two beautiful people would be the perfect combination! We met for a cuppa and a chat one evening at their place in Dorset, they’ve both moved down to the area from South Wales. Growing up near Dorset and currently residing in South Wales myself, we had tonnes in common and it just made me even more excited for their wedding. We discussed whether we would shoot their engagement shoot in Dorset or South Wales as it was easy for us in both locations. In the end we decided on Dorset as when they moved, one of their first coastal walks was at Hengistbury Head. Hengistbury Head is a gorgeous headland jutting into the English Channel with stunning views across to the Isle of Wight. It was a perfect choice in the end. Despite all the weather warnings for torrential rain, (I even had my wellies on and umbrella packed!) the sun shone all through our late afternoon shoot. We started the shoot with ice-cream, with a great plan to shoot some cute photographs using the ice-cream cones as props. Unfortunately the dogs around on their walks had other ideas! Multiple times whilst shooting, these two got bombarded by interested dogs wanting to join our picnic! We climbed to the top of the viewpoint with incredible views along the coast and back down towards some...

Mr & Mrs Burfitt- Langland Bay Golf Club, Swansea, South Wales

Langland Bay Golf Club Wedding Gemma and Darren are a couple of the loveliest people I’ve come to know. Despite not having a huge budget for this wedding, it all came together so beautifully with the help of some very generous and skilled family and friends. Gemma said to me “Even if we had all the money in the world, I wouldn’t have done it any differently.” That stuck with me, as I feel that’s how everyone should feel about their day. It’s all about the people, and the love and the friendship and the day bringing everyone together. The pair were wed in the grand St Catherines Church in Gorseinon, Swansea. Gemma’s parents unfortunately passed away when she was younger and her older brothers and sisters raised her as they were much older. It was only fitting she had her brother, Rob, walk her down the aisle to marry a nervous Darren. We escaped the church in glorious May sun to the breath-taking Langland Bay for their reception at the Golf Club. The golf club is situated high above the golden sands of the bay, with astonishing views over 360-degree views across the Bristol Channel and the distant Brecon Beacons. It was only fitting we took a golf buggy to reach the edge of the course to capture those vistas in the couple portraits. The reception was tonnes of fun, with Rob performing a song with his guitar and MarryOke by First Class Films getting everyone outside to sing ‘Walking on Sunshine’ as loud as they could. Thanks so much to you both for having me capture your Langland Bay...
