Mr & Mrs Towells- Somerset Farm Wedding Photography

Lucy and Lewis’ Farm Yard Wedding was the epitome of DIY and they nailed it! An early start at Lucy’s parents house meant all the girls were still in their pyjamas. The make-up and hair artists were setting up and Lucy’s parents had croissants in the oven for everyone. Last minute farm reception venue preparations we’re going on around the girls as they got ready. Light’s were being strung out, cheese blocks assembled into a beautiful cake formation, and hay bales brought over from the farm next door. Since the farm venue could be seen from Lucy’s parents house, the bridesmaids could keep an eye (through binoculars!) and make sure everything was running smoothly whilst getting ready! The planning that had gone into this wedding was apparent from the outset. Especially as Lucy had gifts of gorgeous silver earrings for each of her bridesmaids for them to wear on the wedding day and keep as a keepsake; a really touching idea. Furthermore she had everyone in gorgeous satin robes with their wedding role on the back too. The weather was hit and miss on the day with potential showers looming over but that didn’t seem to bother anybody. A wedding where you know the majority of the bridal party is a daunting one to say the least, but this couple were so chilled out on their wedding day it was a breeze. The couple stayed in the hotel the night before so after arising bright and early, bridal preparations started. Sophie was so relaxed, her dress didn’t go on until 20 mins before the ceremony was due to start; lucky she didn’t have far to go. The ceremony room was beautiful with big round light-shades and a red carpet laid out just for Sophie. Silver ribbons tied off around white chairs gave a hint at the colour theme to come at the reception. Everything went to plan, although the registrar did call Ryan by his middle name at one point which happens to be his dads name too, much to everyones amusement! After the ceremony, the rain had decided to pour after all and Ryan and Sophie made a dash for it underneath some colourful umbrellas to their drinks reception in the hotel lobby. The rain eventually gave up and we managed to get outside for some beautiful formal group photographs in front of the unusual stone heads out the front of the hotel. We wrapped up the formals...
